2012 Project365 (Day 36)

5 Feb 2012I was at church this morning and hadn’t ever noticed that the windows are lovely pastel glass. They are beautiful and I especially like the fact that it is possible to see the buildings outside.

I have a particular fondness for stained glass, both old and modern, and this window is very simple but I still like it.

  1. it is lovely isn’t it, I love pastel glass, and it’s a beautiful shape … amazing how you can go to a church for years and not notice things … I noticed a spelling mistake on our stained glass windows when I was about 16 (the windows are quite a deal older than that!) and told a few of the elder statesmen – and nobody had ever noticed! I love it 🙂

  2. I’ve ben doing Project 365 for some time now and walking home one day after church I sat that the electricity substation near here has windows that shape on second floor. Not the beautiful pastel shades you show, but certainly unusual on what is really a very industrial building.

Your photo is beautiful. I love the effects on the sky through the glass.

  3. Here’s the industrial version of your lovely window. http://365project.org/lothlorien/365/2011-07-24 A somewhat arty-farty angled photo but I was on edge of footpath and could not stand on road which was very busy.

This was taken last winter, mid-July.

One think I like about project 365 is seeing so much from areas completely different to mine down here and seeing how the light up your way enables totally different shots to the hard light here.

  4. Glad to see you joined up. Am working my way through the photos to leave comments. There’s quite a group of us from Ship who are there. See heavenly thread about photos, can’t quite remember its name.
