Today was the World Aid Walk, a 20km walk raising money for 6 different charities., one of which is my sister’s charity, Hope For A Child.
Last year I did the walk along with Mum, my sister and my aunt. I didn’t do the whole walk this year by The Little Mister and I joined my Mum for the last 5km. It was an absolutely gorgeous sunny day – perfect for a walk.
My Dad and my sister are on the walk organsing committee and between them they gave spent much of the day driving about, delivering water and setting up and taking down checkpoints.
My sister is doing her ‘thin’ face and I told her I had a ‘nice photo’. This is it Lou, the other one was rubbish!!
The Little Mister loves his baths and he is shaping up to be a real water baby.
Most days The Mister will bathe him and I can hear him chatting away and The Little Mister giggling and screeching with pleasure. It’s just delightful.
The Little Mister has been enrolled in swimming lessons starting in September, but we are going for a holiday in Jersey in a few weeks so we will see if the hotel swimming pool is warm enough for him. I am not sure he will like the cold but I think he will love the water!
This morning The Mister and The Little Mister and I met up with my Mum and my niece and nephew at the beach today.
The wind was cold but it was a beautiful day. Living so near such beautiful beaches is just one of the advantages of living on this little island and we are trying to take every opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures.
Tonight my niece and nephew are staying with their grandparents.
This afternoon I watched them ‘helping’ Grandpa in the garden. This usually means digging for worms in the vegetable patch or, as is pictured here, hacking at some rotting wood with a trowel. There is such pleasure for them in just being with Grandpa and now he is starting to reduce his working hours he has more time with them.
I can’t wait until our Little Mister is also out enjoying the fun with them.
The Mister’s brother lives in America and has not yet had the pleasure of meeting his gorgeous nephew yet, although he is coming over in June to spend some time with us which will be lovely.
Uncle David sent him this very cute Philadelphia Eagles vest which he is modelling here.
We are all looking forward to seeing you soon David!
Another gorgeous day today. The Little Mister and I walked to church and then had lunch with my sister and her family and some of their friends.
On the way home we stopped off at Richmond Kiosk and sat in the car, looked at the sear and ate some rather delicious Guernsey Ice-Cream. The Little Mister looks less than impressed about this arrangement for some reason.
After that I had a rather lovely afternoon nap whilst father and son spent some quality time together!
It has been a beautiful, sunny and warm day on Guernsey. This beautiful plant is on the window ledge in my parents conservatory. I think it is a ranunculous and it is beautiful!
I have spent the day going to a carboot sale, walking with The Little Mister in the buggy.
This evening was spent at my sister’s house eating fajitas and watching crap TV shows with my Mum and my sister.
Life is good.
I am absolutely knackered tonight so this will be just a quick one.
Today I was at my Mum and Dad’s house and Dad had a delivery. The box became a boat and Eden and Barnabas went rowing and there was lots of squealing when they were trying to avoid the imaginary crocodiles.
I love seeing children using their imaginations and enjoying creative play!
My cousin and his wife had a baby 4 days after The Little Mister was born.
This is Clara and her Granny (my aunt) with The Little Mister. Clara feels like a cute light little dolly in comparison to the chunk on the right!
One of the things I remember about growing up on the island was spending time with my cousins. I hope that our children have the same experiences and get to enjoy time on the beach, playing together and enjoying being family.
Today is my younger sister’s birthday. We had a nice lunch together and then The Little Mister and I walked to her house and sat in the garden with a bunch of her friends and their kids.
I love living near enough to my family that we can just wander to their houses and spend time together.
The Little Mister continues to be proper snotty and generally a bit grumpy. He wouldn’t smile for the camera today, in fact he wouldn’t even look at it!
Happy birthday Lou
