The Little Mister loves the water and thoroughly enjoys bathtime, especially when Daddy is supervising! He kicks hard and propels himself up and down the bath. We have given up with the little baby bath or any support as he just likes lying flat on his back and kicking away.
I can’t wait until he starts swimming lessons in September, well he will start if I ever remember to fill in the forms which I have lost again. I must remember to go and get a replacement!
I had swimming lessons as a child and I think it is so important for kids to be able to swim, especially living over here.
Let’s hope he copes as well in the cold water of a swimming pool as he does in a nice warm bath!
This afternoon I took The Little Mister to have some more photos done with Yasmin.
I love watching her work but especially when she is taking photos of my favourite subject.
He was asleep for about half the photoshoot and protested highly to being woken up. We also had a few photos done of me breastfeeding him as this is something that I really want to remember.
Can’t wait to see the result!
Tonight my friend Sarah came for dinner. She is due to return to living and working in the UK in the next few weeks so it was a chance to spend a bit of time with her before she goes.
She told me that she hadn’t really held a baby before so of course I handed over The Little Mister for a cuddle.
I think she is smitten!
Today I saw that our gorgeous little boy is a model in the Guernsey Now magazine.
Yasmin has used him in one of her adverts and I think he looks absolutely gorgeous! He has changed so much since then, he was about a week old and still had that old man look. Now he is all chunky and lovely and has seriously grown into his skin.
What was funny though was that the magazine also featured my cousin and his wife in an advert for wedding photography and my other cousin in a photograph for portrait photography. A famous family!
Just a quick post today because I have been a bit slack on the picture front and I haven’t got much to choose from.
We seriously need to get some cats so that I have alternatives for last-minute photographs±!!!
Here is The Little Mister modelling his gorgeous shoes… they fit, but I am not sure they are going to last him very long. He is growing so, so fast!
Today The Little Mister received a rather awesome present in the post today from the lovely Cal.
Such gorgeous little leather apple green shoes with gingham apples on them! I was looking at little leather shoes like this on eBay the other day so I was so thrilled to get them! He is going to look very smart indeed.
The Little Mister is just growing so fast. He is already 3 months old today which seems amazing! No longer does he feel so fragile and delicate, he now has delicious chunky legs and his arms look like he has rubber bands around his wrists! He is smiling all the time and now I am anxious to hear that first elusive giggle!
A couple of weeks ago I bought a new sling for The Little Mister.
I did loads of research, looking at all the pros and cons and in the end I bought a Connecta. It is really easy to use, has buckles, a pattern on one side and plain black on the other so The Mister can also use it, and it is safe for the baby’s hips. It was also much cheaper than some of the other slings I looked at.
Depending on his mood The Little Mister either loves being in it or screams like a banshee. I am trying to give him more time in the sling so he gets use to it – he definitely needs to be used to it by the time we go to Greenbelt. If we have as much rain and mud last year a buggy isn’t going to be much use!
Tonight I cooked tea whilst The Little Mister was in the Connecta. He squawked a bit and then went to sleep.
Here is The Little Mister demonstrating ‘tummy time’ perfectly.
These days most babies sleep on the back as it is well documented that this reduces the risk of cot death, however one of the consequences of this is more babies have mis-hapen heads and they can develop ‘flat spots’. So, tummy time is designed to help combat this.
The Little Mister has developed a small flat spot, partly because he isn’t keen on being on his tummy, so we are making a concerted effort to tackle this.
Whilst this isn’t the greatest picture in the world it is a reminder of what I did today.
This afternoon I went to a local coffee shop with a few girls who were in the same ante-natal class. The Little Mister was the only boy and was surrounded by four girls, including a set of twins. The twins and another baby were all born on the same day, 4 days after The Little Mister and the other gorgeous girly was born a couple of weeks before all of them.
It was lovely to meet up with other Mums who are going through similar experiences, and there was a lot of laughter as well as helpful conversations.
The battle of the bottle continues! A lot of patience and perseverance (mainly on the Mister’s part) and a Nuby bottle and teat and we seem to be getting there.
It’s especially satisfying to see The Little Mister gazing up at his Daddy. Very cute. I was lying in the bath earlier and I could hear The Mister reading him a bedtime story. Lovely!
