This splendid Play Mobil pirate ship was Barnabas’ Christmas present from my parents. I think The Mister is rather jealous and may steal it from him if he is not careful! Barnabas loves Play Mobil and they have so many brilliant different themes these days. They encourage such fantastic creative play and are perfect for developing imagination.
We took a quick trip to the soft play area and this is the water feature in the lobby on the way out. I can’t wait until they have Winston to play with too!
So, we are eating up the last few beans and carrots that have been coming through. Delicious! Here are Barnabas, Eden and Mum digging them up.
Just as well the veggie patch is coming to the end of the season though, dad has plenty to be getting on with in our house!
My sister and my brother-in-law have gone to London for the night and Mum is in charge of their kids. Unfortunately this house is full to the brim so she has had to go up to their house to sleep for the night. When The Mister and I arrived home from work she seemed quite grateful to see us to help us entertain Barnabas and Eden for a bit.
They are full of beans and great fun, and Barnabas is definitely understanding about the baby which is very sweet. It will be lovely for Winston to have big cousins to play with!
Dad found a grasshopper on one of the flowers and Eden was really fascinated by it and kept trying to poke it. Barnabas was a little more nervous and didn’t want to hold it. Cute pic though.
We went out to the local garden centre where they have a soft-play area and we looked at the rabbits and the little blue lobsters for sale. We had a lovely time and it was so nice to spend some time with the kids on my own as they are really good company. It was all a bit much for Barnabas though and he needed a little nap with his plane to get through the afternoon!
My nephew Barnabas is looking so grown-up these days. He is going to be 3 in July but he is becoming more and more entertaining. He has this new thing of if you ask him what he has been doing or whether he has been good he kind of tilts his head downwards and then sheepishly looks up at you through his eyelashes. It’s absolutely hilarious!
My parting comment to him is always “Do you know how much I love you Barnabas?” to which he replies “Yes, to the moon and back”. That just about sums it up I reckon.
This picture is of him showing some love to a more reluctant Justin!
Today has been an absolutely gorgeous day. Lovely sunshine and my sister and the kids came for lunch. We spent time outside, watching Barnabas play swingball and Eden powering up and down the path, oh and Dad playing with his helicopter.
Barnabas and Mum sat together reading a book after lunch and before we knew it his eyes had closed and he dropped off for a little sleep. This little picture makes me smile because of the way he is holding Mum’s hand. So cute!
Tonight I am babysitting for Barnabas and Eden. My sister and brother-in-law have gone off to some posh dinner where she is giving a speech about the charity. I am sitting on the sofa in my comfy clothes watching the TV – seems like the wrong way around to me!
Fortunately The Mister came and helped me bathe them and put them to bed, it is much easier when you have one each. Before my sister left she commented that Eden was being a bit of a pickle at bed times and refusing to go down. Is it wrong to be feeling especially smug that she is sound asleep about 15 minutes after I put her to bed?
