2013 Project365 (Day 122)

BluebellsThe Little Mister has been quite grumpy today after having had his third set of jabs yesterday.

He went for a long walk with The Mister this morning and then this afternoon we wandered through the lanes.

The lanes are bursting with flowers and all over the place there are signs of new life, celandines and primroses, as well as bluebells which are some of my favourite flowers.

It’s been a beautiful day.

2013 Project365 (Day 113)

Sausmarez ParkI have had a really lovely day today. The weather has been beautiful and we have been out and about.

This afternoon The Little Mister and I went to the park to meet with the Ladies and babies. We did a couple of laps around the park and then we drank coffee. The park is looking gorgeous and the flowers are blooming. The building in the background is St John’s Residential Home.

The only downside of the beautiful weather is that we have realised just how fair The Little Mister is. He has a rather red face today and I feel like a bad mother for not realising the sun was warm enough to burn him. i am sure he will be ok.

2013 Project365 (Day 44)

DaffodilsThis morning I took The Little Mister to see the health visitor to get him weighed. He continues to stack on the weight at a steady rate and he gets more gorgeous every day. After that we went to meet my Mum, sister and her kids at the leisure centre and had a spot of lunch.

What caught my eye for a photo today though was these gorgeous sunny yellow daffodils which are in a vase in the lounge. Bright and cheerful against the grey sky, and a sign that spring is on the way. Hopefully this year we will have some decent weather!

2012 Project365 (Day 199)

Sweet PeasDad’s garden is starting to look absolutely lovely. The vegetables are growing fast and the flowers are blooming.

One of my favourite flowers are Sweet Peas and there are loads of them growing up the fruit cage. To keep them flowering you have to keep picking them. So, almost every room in the house smells absolutely glorious with the sweet fragrance of Sweet Peas.

Sadly they die quite quickly once picked so we have to go and pick more!

The weekend

I had a fabulous weekend. My parents flew over from Guernsey and we had a party on the Saturday night, kind of an evening wedding ‘do’ for those people who couldn’t make it to the island. It was lovely, but I didn’t take any photos because I was too busy drinking wine!

It was lovely having Mum and Dad here for a few days and on Sunday we went up to Constable Burton to visit their tulip festival. The claim to have planted about 6000 bulbs, but sadly as the weather has been so rotten the vast majority of the bulbs had not yet bloomed which was annoying. I did manage to take some nice pictures though.

The gardens were absolutely lovely and we even met the owner of the house. Actually I was chatting him up for some information on the house and he was telling us how expensive it was to run and he was complaining about the pollution on the side of the building from when there used to be factories in Leeds. I offered my dad’s services to come and steam-clean the building!

On Monday we took a quick trip up to Harrogate. I love that town, beautiful architecture and lovely tea-shops. What more do you want? I didn’t take too many photos, but this one was taken outside a bra shop. It amused me to much that I had to take a picture!
