We are now making decisions about where to put our pictures and what fits on the different walls.
This gorgeous montage of photos was taken by Yasmin when The Little Mister was about 7 days old. He has now lost that wizened little old man look that he had when he is tiny.
I am so pleased that we have photos of him when he was dinky because now he is solid and much rounder!
This little cat is called Lucy and she belongs to The Mister’s Mum and Dad.
We bought Lucy as a birthday present for my father-in-law last year and despite the protestations from my mother-in-law of ‘I don’t want a cat’, she has become the talking point in the house and indeed life seems to revolve around her. I realised that she had settled in nicely when I saw a selection crocheted cat toys for her a couple of weeks after she made her appearance in the house!
She is a very sweet kitty but is a bit twitchy and scratchy at times but she is spoilt rotten!
One of the reasons The Mister and I are staying in Leeds for a few days is to do some serious shopping. Guernsey is rubbish for shops, and even worse, many companies won’t deliver mail order to the island. So, today we have shopped hard (we both hate it) and have managed to buy quite a lot of stuff, in particular clothes for The Mister’s new job.
Leeds has some really gorgeous architecture; lovely red brick buildings and details on buildings and the Victoria Quarter is probably the prettiest shopping centre. The buildings are over 100 years old but were restored in the 1980’s. They have done a lovely job and it now houses shops like Mulberry, Louis Vuitton and Swavorski.
This isn’t a terribly good photo and I think I look like a Weeble, but I hope you get the idea!
Today The Mister and I left Tom and Anne’s and drove to Leeds. I really want to do some shopping (well actually I hate shopping but I need to get a few bits and pieces and at least I know where everything is in Leeds) and we are staying at Malmaison which is quite posh but really central in Leeds and very nice. After sleeping on a lilo for a few nights it is lovely to have a nice bed, although it is extremely high and I hope I don’t fall out of it!
So, I am been persuaded and inspired to give the Project 365 thing a go. Jack the Lass managed to do it last year and I thought it was a fabulous idea.
I will attempt to take a photo every day this year and I will post it here for all to see. Hopefully I will manage it, although I might also enlist The Mister to take a few pictures and I will choose the best one!
So, here is Day 1… we are staying with our friends Tom and Anne and their 3 boys for New Year. It has been blissful and chilled out. Lots of wine and food and fun and it has been lovely as I have really missed the boys over the last few months since we moved to Guernsey.
The weather is grey an overcast and rainy but we took a short walk up to the allotment. Unfortunately Andrew fell over four times on the way there, including a spectacular face-plant into a big puddle. This was the state of him by the time we walked home!
